About Mercedes

Mercedes Mercado is a multitalented actor/writer/director/producer. She was a prodigy and entered college at the age of sixteen. She grew up in New York City and enrolled in the Susan Grace Cohen Studio to take up acting once she graduated with her bachelor’s degree from college.

She can be seen co-starring opposite Brittany Murphy as the hilarious Honey Squeeze in the film Little Black Book. She appeared in other films like John Singleton’s Shaft and Illegal Tender (Franc. Reyes) where she played an assassin. Her latest role is in the soon-to-be released film Cash Collectors where she plays another killer role.

After getting many writing accolades from elementary school through college, Mercedes began to write movie scripts. She wrote and directed two short films, which got into a few festivals. She discovered she loved being behind the camera just as much as she did in front of it. After receiving a Best Short nomination, Mercedes got inspired to continue writing and directing.

Mercedes authored a book, “Understanding Men With Power,” which is a period memoir of her time in Los Angeles and her dealings with Hollywood power players. Although it was written as a witty laugh-out-loud comedy, the purpose of the book was to help other women in their relationships with men.

Her other loves include the love of languages, so she’s fluent in both Spanish and French. She has an insatiable joie de vivre and travels the world for art, food, architecture, and to learn about other cultures and people. She has an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Her goal in life is to create meaningful stories and to help as many people and touch as many lives as possible through her work.
